Alcohol: Periodic? How frequent? And how much at a time? Even binge 5 beers in weekends is alcoholism with severe long term personal and familial consequences. Mono does not leave long lasting consequences in the liver but mono+alcoholism do. Think of your family, or if single, of the severe consequencesss in your own life of resulting severe depression + severe anxiety that initially push you to drink.

Odd statement: Mono lasts 3 weeks in most, 3 months in some, but not a year. The CDC has poo-pooed any past idea of a chronic mono. Mono causes liver inflammation & reduces its capacity to detoxify alcohol. Drinking while ill would cause more damage, but your liver recovers unless you overdo it.You can have your liver checked out for fatty change or cirrhosis, which may be a good idea in your case.
