A member asked:

Mr results are high serum total cholesterol=250mg/dl fasting glucose 97mg/dl and hemoglobin 5% female 33 years. is it danger? what shall i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Numbers are numbers: Lab results are just numbers, and have little meaning without looking at the whole person, meaning the doctor who ordered the tests and knows the patient will be best able to interpret the results. The cholesterol is divided into Good cholesterol (HDL) and Bad cholesterol (LDL, TG), so those numbers make a big difference. Hemoglobin is not the same as hemoglobin A1c. Details are very important.
