See Orthopaedics: Studies show that fractures sometimes do not heal, a process called nonunion. Nonunion can be biological or mechanical. Biologically, nonunion may occur because of lack of nutrition or diseases which delay healing. Mechanically, your fracture may have not been reduced correctly. Need more information. You may also have another concurrent undiagnosed injury such as injury to talus/ligament tear
