I got a tetanus shot about 5 days ago in my upper right arm. each day, i have gotten worser pain to the point i am losing sleep, have mild to moderate nausea and missing work. what should i do? i have been taking tylenol, and using heat and ice.

Hang in there: Severe and prolonged reactions do happen. If the skin is red and getting worse then get it seen by a doctor. Motrin might give more relief

Serum sickness?: A small % of people have high level of protective antibodies to a vaccine for longer time than expected. When this group is immunized with a booster with the same vaccine, a hyper-immune response may occur about 3 days after. With systemic symptoms, you may need a short course of oral cortisone . This was not uncommon when tetanus booster was given yearly about 40 years ago.
