Migraine means: vascular, i.e. a painful pulse due to relaxation of smooth muscles in meningeal arteries walls, artery dilation driven by blood pressure (more so if elevated). The enlargement stretches the meningeal membranes around the arteries (which are very pain sensitive). Where is the control of all this? Within one's brain (mind), yet subconscious.
