Frostbite injury: Soft tissue injuries that occur as a result of prolonged exposure to cold environments can initially look as if there is no injury whatsoever. However, during the course of the body's rewarming of the area, one my experience marked to moderate pain, blistering, and in severe cases, gangrene. Expect the skin changes to takes days to resolve if possible. Pain following frostbite can last many years.

Get checked!: See a doc now, and if frostbite is suspected, get referred to an expert in cold injuries, as improper treatment can lead to long term problems.
