A member asked:

Are there any medications/probiotics/vitamins other than antibiotics and st. johns worth that would interfere with the mini pills effectiveness? does it matter how many hours are between taking medication and birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a big worry: Commonly used antibiotics should not be a problem, except for rifampin. There are very few commonly used medications or supplements that interfere with hormonal contraceptives such as combination OCP's, progesterone mini-pills, etc. There is a chart on a 2009 website that lists some of the things to watch out for: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/tre.107/pdf
