A member asked:

Can probiotics cancel effects of antibiotics given to an infant at birth? grandson doubled birth weight at 3 months. what can be done to slow gain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No&Why slow growth? : Probiotics provide a nourishing environment for normal gut germs that help sustain health, they do dot counteract antibiotics. A normal infant is supposed to double his birth weight by 3-4m and triple it by a year. All this sounds normal. Please share concerns with the child's treating physician.
