Call doctor: If your cough is causing chest pain or sleep disruption, your doctor can Rx something more potent for you. If it is an aftermath of a virus infection but otherwise tolerable, it may take a couple more weeks for it to subside. Nasal decongestant spray may be used for up to 5 days if needed.
