A member asked:

Photo of my right eye showed blurry/fuzzy optic nerve. optometrist checked and it was the same 2yrs ago. no eye pain or vision problems. although, i have been having ice pick headaches on the right side. possible optic neuritis or something to check?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Optic nerve drusen: Optic neuritis in the acute phase causes decreased vision and in the chronic phase will cause chronic vision changes. It is more likely that you have something called optic nerve head drusen. It is also less likely to have a tumor of the optic nerve. I would have an exam by an ophthalmologist and have the headaches evaluated by a neurologist.
