See a doc: Numbness of the face occurs with damage around a nerve. Lower jaw trauma from wisdom tooth extraction, for example, can damage nerve and sensation to half of lower jaw. More troubling is numbness without any explanation. It could be swelling around nerve by infected tooth or a growth in the jaw due to a cyst or even cancers. Start w/dentist, he will examine head/neck and take panorex xray.
