A member asked:

Could you tell me what happens if an alzheimer's disease patient is also diagnosed with cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: It depends on the severity of alzheimer's disease. It it is advanced, it may be better not to do an operation or chemotherapy because that may not prolong patient's life and would cause him/her lot of discomfort. If the patient would still understand the treatment's side-effects, it is possible to treat him/her as somebody who does not have alzheimer's disease.
