My knee locks up at night it is so bad that it wakes me crying. i cannot get my knee to bend or move. its not swolen and usually better during day. i have been to a dr my x-ray was normal i took anti inflammatories. it does not work. what can it be?

Many causes possible: When people refer to the knee, it is always important to define what part of the knee is painful. An example in a young patient with inside or outside pain located in the “back of the knee” can have tendinitis of the hamstring or pes anserine tendons. Many other common sources of knee pain can exist with a normal x-Ray. Further physical exam by a musculoskeletal physician is strongly recommended
