A member asked:

How long after first set of vaccines do infants get some protection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Takes time: It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the immune response to kick in & provide basic protection. Their immaturity as new infants means the boost in 6-8 weeks to keep the process going with a 3rd set in another 6-8 wks. By then their immunity will hold into their 2nd yr for the initial vaccines before a booster is needed.
