Not AP: Appendicitis begins as lesion in appendix such as appendicolith causing inflammation of mucosal lining. This is referred to unbilical area where pain and nausea present. As inflammation progresses from mucosa to serosa of AP the symptoms shift to pain with rebound tenderness to rt. lower quadrant, not the vague symptoms you've noted.
