A member asked:

Is it normal to develop a boyd rash after a ct scan that used contrast medium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rash: You have had a allergic reaction to the contrast. This should pass within the next few hours. You can take some benadryl (diphenhydramine). If the rash gets worse or if you have shortness of breath you should immediately contact your doctor or go to the emergency room. It is important to note that for any future ct scan with contrast you should be premedicated before receiving contrast.
