I've been on amoxicillin 875mg for 5 days for strep throat. My throat feels better, but my cough has not gotten better at all. Should I be concerned?

Why do I still have yellow mucus, sore throat and productive cough 2 weeks after given amoxicillin for strep throat?
I had strep throat with a middle ear infection for 18 days. I completed an amoxicillin course of 20 tablets, and because of the middle ear I had to do myringotomy too, but even after that I still have a phlegm cough , and sore throat. Is this serious?
