Investigate: It is easy to treat with tums or Zantac or Prilosec over the counter, but sometimes can be something more complex. I would go for a direct examination of the stomach first, which is called EGD(esophagoscope-gastro-duodenoscopy) by a Gastroenterologist. Depending on the findings he will give you the right treatment. Many bad diseases can start with “heartburn”, the correct diagnosis is essential.
