A member asked:

Need ways to lower the level of triglycerides & higher the level of hdl-cholesterol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several options: Lower triglycerides can be done with several medicines from fish oil to medications called fibrates or niacin. Raising the HDL is not so easy. Sometimes diet, weight-loss and exercise help. Of the chol meds only niacine as a significant impact on increasing HDL but sometimes is not well tolerated due to se of flushing.
