My 2 yr old fell, hit her head. she quickly had a large bump that ran right along a blood vessel. it has gone down some with ice. what does this mean?

Falls and injuries: to the head often lead to a large bump because there is no soft tissue over the bone to absorb any blood from an injury.Children her age and younger often have prominent scalp blood vessels.If you are not seeing bleeding from that,I would not be concerned about that aspect.However, if she develops vomiting, sleepiness, different behavior than usual,or the bump enlarges a lot,see her doctor/ ER.
