No: Your total cholesterol is about 99 mg/dL which is okay. Please note that US does not follow metric measures and units of measure in US are different from those in most other countries. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

A 37-year-old member asked:

What would you need to do to prepare for total knee replacement?

Many options: To prepare for a total knee replacement first you should have an informed discussion with your surgeon. Then maximize your health for surgery. Improve your eating habits and take appropriated nutritionals. Do your best to pre-surgically exercise your thigh muscles and hamstrings in preparation for your postop rehab. Get your ice machine ready at home, your walker and a cane. These are basics.

You will also need a preoperative medical evaluation to make sure you are safe for anesthesia. I also have all my patients get a dental check up to ensure there is no active gum or tooth infections that can infect your new knee replacment. If you are overweight, try your best to address your diet and activity to loss some weight and keep on that routine after surgery. Avoid gardening or activities that can scratch your skin prior to your surgery because your surgeon will cancel your surgery if you have open cuts or scrapes on your operative leg the day of surgery. Contact your insurance company to find out what therapy centers in your area accept your insurance for after surgery and which rehab facilities you can go to after surgery if you do not go right home from the hospital.

A 18-year-old female asked:

I had a blister on my toe but the skin broke and now there is just a piece of skin hanging there and it hurts. What do I do? When will it heal?

The loose skin : Should be trimmed away, the blister cleaned, then dressed with an antibiotic ointment and then covered with a band aid. It will take a few days, but the soreness will gradually decrease as the skin under the blister dries out and toughens up.

Doctor can evaluate: For new onset of asthma symptoms in an adult, he can see and follow-up with his primary care doctor. If symptoms are difficult to get rid of, or are unusual, the patient can see an allergy & asthma specialist, and/or see a pulmonologist (lung doctor). Pulmonary function tests and allergy tests can be helpful when looking for the best treatments. For bad symptoms, the E.R. Is the place to go to.

Unlikely: If all testing negative, i doubt it. You may have simply not ovulated last cycle and that is why you are so late. Are your periods normally regular? Check with your obgyn and good luck.

Constipation: Constipation causes are variable. Is diabetes well controlled? Increase dietary fiber and water intake. Fiber supplement such as benefiber or citrucel or konsyl may be of benefit. If problem persists, see your doctor.
