A member asked:

My son, almost 3 years old, gets extreme nose bleeding. do i need to see a doctor? how can i stop the bleeding quickly?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nose bleeds: Prechoolers often have nose bleeds due to dry air and/or picking their nose. Applying vasoline-petroleum jelly and salt water drops to nares can help prevent nose bleed. Stop a nose bleed by pinching the nares together. You should have your child's nose checked by a doctor if the nose bleeds are frequent.
