HIV: pregnant: Prior to attempting pregnancy, see a maternal-fetal medicine expert at a university site. Call the OB/GYN department and get an appointment , as there are medications which can essentially reduce the incidence considerably in transmission between a mother and child.

HIV uninfected baby: There are a dozen medications (some only a single tablet) which can reduce transmission to <1%. Get on therapy early, and you may need IV medication during delivary or a C-section.
