Anxiety vs....: Something! It is often hard to understand how feeling stress or anxious could cause skin symptoms such as these, but in a young person your age, that is the most likely cause. HOWEVER, the significant disease causes of this are in the connective tissue disease realm: lupus, scleroderma, dematomyositis, cryoglobulinemia, rheumatoid arthritis. Reduce stress, observe, see doc in 2 weeks if persists

Costochondritis: In someone your age the most likely cause is irritation of the nerves in your anterior chest as they cross the cartilage and bone. This usually resolves with time but can be persistent. Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen are helpful as is rest of the muscle of your rib cage. Other causes are possible but really rare. If you develop other symptoms or theses persist see your doc.
