Healed: A draining wound or skin infection should be covered with a dressing. The exudate can spread infection. Is the infection MRSA ? After 48 hours of antibiotics and no fever can return to work with a covered skin infection. Until the Staph skin infection is healed the exudate has active bacteria in it and should be disposed of in a sanitary manner.
