Several Poss : The best way to find out is to see your dentist for a diagnosis and treatment. It will get worse if you do nothing.

Possibly....: When wisdom teeth don't quite have room to fit there can be several reasons for swelling including: food getting stuck behind the tooth, cheek biting, gum getting squished between partially erupted top and bottom teeth, and infection. You need to see your dentist this week to have it evaluated. In the mean time rinse several times a day with warm salt water to help keep it clean.

Swollen gums: Partial impaction, food impaction, infected gums, occlusal trauma, are just some of the possibilities. See your Dentist who will have the right treatment, or the right referral for treatment, to resolve your problem.
