LOCAL ISCHEMIA: When you cross your legs or restrict one limb for a prolonged period of time you are essentially depriving an area of oxygenated blood by kinking your blood vessels locally and thereby depriving those tissues and the nerves supplying it of blood and the oxygen it carries. The pins and needle sensation you are feeling i are your nerves telling you to move to restore circulation to them .
