Dog bite: Rabies is always fatal so I would take sone to ER for evaluation. Do not kill the dog but lock it up until can be examined.

Mouthwash: Mouthwash is ineffective, removing just some of the surface bacteria, but will have no effect on rabies virus. Another concern is tetanus. Is your child's tetanus immunization up to date? is your dog's rabies immunization up to date? In any event, lock your dog up in a safe area, take your child immediately to the hospital Emergency intake or to your child's Pediatrician.
