It's possiblei: If your gums aren't healthy and you vigorously rinse it can bleed also some mouthwashes have high alcohol content and that can irritate your gums have your dentist check it out.

No: Excessive use of mouth wash, particularly if it contains alcohol, can irritate and dry the tissues. There is a suspected cancer risk to excessive alcohol contact on oral tissues.

Dry the mucosa: Mouthwash with alcohol such as listerine will dry and cause oral tissue irritation (red, sensitive tissue). Mouthwash such as biotene will not have this problem. Bleeding gum causes by inflame tissue due to local factors (plaque, calculus, occlusion) or systemic factor (blood or circulatory disease, vit deficiency, etc...) see your dentist.
