Tick bite: I'm of the school that advises a course of doxycycline under these circumstances especially since surrounding redness is present. In any event you should report this to your physician who may want to examine you and prescribe a different antibiotic for incipient cellulitis. Taking an antihistamine like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin reduces itching. Apply cortisporin or similar ointment.
