Calicifications: There are quite a few causes of calcifications in the brain, and the specific size, location, and pattern are important. One common cause of a single calcified focus on a CT scan of the brain is a parasitic infection called cysticercosis. Other causes include vascular calcifications from atherosclerosis. Best to review your scan results with your doctor.
