A member asked:

My areola are getting larger and larger. its been 23 yrs since i had my twins, is this normal? they have expanded to over 60% of my breast.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Areolar pigment: Breast areolar size varies greatly among women in general, and particularly in women with more olive skin tones, or of African American descent. If you are in your 40's, your ovaries are producing more estrogen now than in 20's/30's, which increases pigmentation, so where the borders of your areolae were previously less visible, they may appear larger now.
