A member asked:

Pain inside of right knee. how can i test for tear in meniscus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Evaluation: YOu need to be seen by an orthopedic sugeon. Most acute meniscus tears will cause swelling and pain in the joint. This can often be accompanied by popping, catching, or locking up of the knee. An orthopedic surgeons can evaluate with xrays and physical exam. If there is suspicion, then the doctor will likley order an MRI to clearly evaluate the meniscus. I doubt you could test on your own.
