A member asked:

Hey dr. im currently a week and half late for my period. i took a pregnancy test last week that came out negative. must i do a blood test to confirm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If you did the test correctly and it was negative a week after a missed period, you do not need a blood test, unless you have symptoms of pregnancy. If you did not have sex since your last period, there is no need to test. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine
