Saline implants 10yrs ago. now thickening lump & nodules. doc ordered u/s & mammogram. is mammogram risky if this is already a rupturing implant?

Breast implants: It is unlikely to be a rupture in the implant, if the breast size has not decreased. Digital mammorgraphy is preferable to sonography for accuracy, and will not cause a rupture in the implant if done carefully. "Lumps and nodules" are more likely with implants, as scar tissue reacts from the insertion process.
