A member asked:

How long does it take to clear up a uti/to stop seeing symptoms when you are on antibiotics? just started it todo so still burns to pee a bit.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies : Sometimes symptoms resolve in 24 hrs, sometimes can take several days. This is determined by the degree of inflammation in the bladder lining in response to the infection, and by the sensitivity of the bacteria to the antibiotic. If symptoms aren't improving at all within 48-72 hrs, bacteria may be resistant to antibiotic, or there may be another cause for the symptoms.
