Stone : A stone in the mid-ureter that has not progressed within 5-7 days should propably be ureteroscopically extracted, especially if there is an associated urine infection. If larger than 6 mm, the odds of passage after this time are slim.

Should pass: The stone should pass. Be patient and see your doctor if pain lasts more than a week or so.
