Average cost?: There is no "average cost". And even if there was a statistical mean, that would not really be of much use to you. Fees range by type and length of treatment necessary, experience and training of dentist, geographical location and type of practice. See an Orthodontist (or two or three) for a one on one evaluation, consultation and discussion of cost.

Orthodontic Fees: Fees vary widely from office to office, region to region. Your best bet is to seek the advice of a local orthodontist.

Orthodontic Rx: Orthodontics is a service, not a commodity. Cost of treatment depends on severity of the malocclusion, treatment modality, and training/skill/experience of the practitioner. See one or more qualified Orthodontic Specialists for Initial Examination (usually free) to asses your problem and discuss treatment alternatives and costs.

Teaching program?: If cost is a primary consideration, but you are interested in a premium result, think about getting your care done at an Orthodontic teaching program. The only drawbacks would be that the time to get treatment might be a little longer and the convinance of hours!
