A member asked:

Can my child get chicken pox from swimming in the same pool another child with chicken pox swam in?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The virus is not particularly happy in the water, but if the kid swam at the same time and there were any close contact it would be possible. The germ can be airborne in a cough or pass into saliva and onto objects. Swimming in the same pool hours later would not be a likely exposure.
