A member asked:

How often on average does a child get chicken pox what does it look like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Once unless vaccinat: One episode of chickenpox in middle childhood confers a lifetime immunity. There is some concern that one having it in the first few months could have it again, but this is rare. The spots come in many stages at the same time, a "dew drop on a rose petal" describes the color & features of a classical blister. They start as tiny bumps & evolve to blisters within a day, then break, weep & crust.
