Easy fix: Though borderline bad, we don’t like low 90s. Let someone else check it. Make sure you are relaxed. Sit in a comfortable chair. Do not make a muscle with your bicep. Make sure the cuff lines up correctly based on your arm size. Record the time of Day. Read-up on risk factors for high blood pressure. Easy to avoid adding salt to your view, getting exercise, eating properly. No smoking.

Anxiety: Anxiety or stress certainly can cause a transient spike of blood pressure. In older people the systolic bp rises whereas in younger patients the diastolic also rises. Sustained hypertension is more of a problem, but if chronic anxiety is a problem for you stress management therapy would be helpful as it's better to avoid even transient rises in bp if they occur often.

Relax: This BP is not very high. Take your BP many times on different days at different times so you get more relaxed with it. Both feet flat on the floor. Arm resting at heart level on something soft. Relax all muscles including tongue. Read or listen to radio but do not talk.
