My understanding: is that the risk of wound infection may be reduced in those taking probiotics. The hypothesis is that promoting "healthy bacteria", presumably found in probiotics, may minimize the damage done by pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria causing wound infection. I would check with your surgeon, but my thought is probiotics are likely OK in this situation. Stay well:)
