Doubt HIV: You don't say where your herpes is -- probably genital? But if oral, it could cause lymph node inflammation in the neck. Genital herpes cannot. New HIV never causes only a few lymph nodes to be inflamed; and onset of new HIV symptoms is almost always 1-2 weeks after exposure, not 6 weeks later. Probably unrelated problems. B'ut since you're worried about HIV and maybe partner at risk, get tested!
