Ask your doctor: other things besides kidneys cause low back pain, however there must be something there and your doctor is pursuing it. Keep with him/her and keep pressing for an explanation. Good luck!

If after various antibiotics treatments, the UTI still persists, should a 70+ yold be very concerned? Ultrasound done and no stones found.
