See doctor ASAP: Studies show that hemoptysis can be graded as trivial, minor, massive. If you are coughing up small amounts likely associated with an upper respiratory infection,bronchitis or pneumonia. You deserve a full history and physical with your physician, chest x-ray, with lab work and possibly a GI consultation and or pulmonology consultation. If large amount of blood go to ER.
