Mri says medial meniscus extruded and attenuated into the posterior root does this mean a internal derangement and a tear. please explain?

It sounds: like a meniscal root tear, a tear that occurs where the meniscus attaches to the tibia along its posterior margin. The meniscus may become displaced(extruded). This may require surgical repair, talk to your doc.
