Probably not.: The IUD mainly works mechanically, by ,not allowing the egg to implant. But the wise thing is to continue your previous method of contraception for about 1 month after any new methods (IUD) have been put in place.

I believe there are only 5 contraceptive IUDs approved in the US, Paragard, Mirena, Kyleena, Liletta, and Skyla. Is Avibela one of them? if anyone knows anything about this particular contraceptive?
