Pain after eating: Try eating smaller meals. If you are still having pain it could be related to reflux and you should try an over the counter medicine like Famotidine. If the pain continues or moves down see your doctor.

Small bites and gulp: Agree with Dr. Pool. The pain may be due spasm of esophageal muscles. Try taking smaller bites of food and smaller gulps of liquids while drinking. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Consult recommended: Need to get more information here - could be oesophageal spasm/indigestion from eating too rapidly or too large a mouthful at a time as the others have said. However need careful assessment as to whether other issues such as a swallowing problem or other medical condition. Please see doctor for further assessment as you may need physical examination and tests - plus treatment. All the best
