Myth: Stomach and duodenal ulcers from H. Pylori bacteria and NSAID meds, including aspirin, dose- related prostaglandin inhibition. Chronic alcohol poisoning can be a factor.

GERD: Eating a lot of spicy food can exacerbate a condition called Gastroesophageal Reflux or GERD, this may be what you are referring to. This is also known as heartburn.
