Many causes: Abdominal pain has many causes. Is this a 5 year old person. Please confirm. gastritis is uncommon in the children...antacids can control it within 48 hours. if the pain persists or there is nausea/vomiting or fever, then go/take the person to the Er for a check of the blood counts.

More info needed: Your age is listed as 5. We need a description of the exact location of the pain, its type, duration and relation,if any,to eating. Any associated nausea, heartburn, abnormal stool color; what, if anything, relieves or aggravates it. Has gall bladder disease, peptic ulcer or pancreatitis been ruled out? It's best to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist or abdominal surgeon & Appropriate tests done
